  The Canton Fair , the biggest of its kind in China, serves as a barometer of the condition of mainland exports. It is held in the China Import and Export Complex in Guangzhou with over 1.1 million sq m of exhibition space and 25,000 exhibitors.


  China has exerted increased efforts in expanding trade with developing countries like Brazil and Russia. Prime Minister Wen Jiabao has recently proposed a free trade pact between China and Mercosur, a political and economic agreement among Venezuela, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina. China seeks to double its yearly trade with Latin America to US$400 billion over the following five years.
  Also known as the China Import and Export Fair, the bi-annual event draws sourcing professionals from all over the world. The China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) is a comprehensive trade show one with the longest history, the highest level, the largest scale, the most complete in exhibit variety, the broadest distribution of overseas buyers and the greatest business turnover in China.
