China's Snow Town (local name: Zhong Guo Xue Xiang) is actually the nickname of the Shuangfeng Wood Farm in Hailin City. It is about 280 kilometers away from Harbin, the capital city of Heilongjiang Province. Occupying an area of 500 hectares, the whole farm is at an elevation of 1,500 meters. Due to the web-warm air from Sea of Japan and the cold wind from Lake Baikal make a tremendous impact on it, the snow period here lasts more than 7 months and the average snowfall reaches 2 meters.

Cold air from Siberia meets the warm air currents from the Sea of Japan, resulting in abundant snowfall. The first snowfall usually arrives in October, and does not melt until seven months later. The white snow carpets the mountain, the wooden houses and the ground, and thus a silver dreamland stretches far beyond the horizon.
The town has 100 households, most of them are workers of the local Forestry Bureau, although the mountains were closed to conserve the natural forests.Snow Village’s rooms feature sculpted ice furniture, and some also have ice and snow decorations. Sleeping bags with fleece liners and personal wake-up service with free hot berry drink are included. All bathroom facilities are shared and can be found in a heated underground building nearby.
